Yesterday I went to the PVGP as I always do (with the RX7), and despite the heat and humidity (I assert that the morning wasn’t bad, but in the afternoon things went downhill quickly) took a few phone pictures. Of those, here are the ones worth sharing.
This Datsun 710 was a pleasant surprise, not something you see often - especially in such good shape.
There were several other Datsuns present as well.
Subaru corporate brought out some cool old cars, which is good since all the privately-owned ones were, well, typical (though there was a good GC8). This 360 was swell.
Heading over to the mass of BMWs, this 2002tii stood out for its overall excellence, especially in color.
There were some wagons present as well - most seem to have flocked together, though there was an e30 wagon and an e34 M5 wagon elsewhere in the show.
This Alfa was in a classic car dealer’s display, and Very Good. I’m sure it could be yours for some ungodly price.
There were a couple Supras, but most notable was Best Supra:
Rotary party - 5 cars and 11 rotors comprise the whole unplanned group
. As a bonus, there was a manual behind the 20B as it should be.
Hey that one in the front looks familiar
Surprisingly there were two Beats here, this is the nicer of the two. I would later find out, after unexpectedly running into an old friend, that it’s owned by a friend of my friend.
Here’s the sort of Subaru I’d want, as alluded to earlier:
I’M HAVING A GREAT TIME BEING IN THIS SHOW ISN’T THIS SO GREAT? BOY THIS IS FUN!
Another pleasant surprise was not one but two Lotus Cortinas!
There was a good variety of Lotus, but the Esprit V8 stood out to me.
Lagonda, anyone?
Gulf
Mirage:
Then there were the Alfa Romeo
s, which were
featured this year.
Oh, the Alfas
Make Engines Beautiful Again
So good
By this point I was hot and tired enough that I opted to sit in the shade for a while, drink a couple bottles of water, and went home in my
fortunately-air-conditioned
RX7.

Very nice! I’m still disappointed that the seats on the Beat were covered:
